K-12 Schools Receive $123 Billion in New Funding

March 11, 2021

On March 10, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1319, the American Rescue Plan Act, which President Biden is expected to sign into law this week. The bill includes $123 billion in funding for elementary and secondary schools across the country. With the COVID-19 pandemic, many schools are seeking curriculum options that allow their students to learn from anywhere—even at home at the kitchen table—and this funding will be used by school districts to achieve just that. Much of the funding is directed to be used by schools to offer innovative programming to re-engage and excite students—not only for the coming school year, but also in afterschool and summer courses.

CTeLearning offers STEAM courses that can be administered by schools in the classroom, remotely, or through a hybrid learning model. CTeLearning courses can also be offered as afterschool or summer options for students. Courses include Introduction to Coding, Introduction to Web and Mobile App Design, Web Development and Design, and Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Robotics—as well as others. These highly interactive and media-rich courses offer students the chance to earn International Industry-Recognized Certifications (IIRC) to kickstart their journey in fields they may wish to pursue as potential career paths. Courses include teacher training and do not require teacher expertise, making it easy for students to begin learning and creating on day one.

CTeLearning’s newest course, the Remote Working Professional course, prepares students with the skills necessary to prepare for working in the new remote work economy that has changed so rapidly in the age of COVID-19. The Remote Working Professional course includes the opportunity to earn a Remote Working Professional IIRC, an in-demand certification indicating the learner is prepared to thrive in the new remote economy. The course pairs perfectly with CTeLearning’s other course offerings in teaching students soft skills in addition to technical skills.  CTeLearning has the curriculum that schools need to meet the challenges of today’s unique teaching and learning environment.
